Deliver hot pizzas through a hurricane, from flooded streets to a coast road full of wrecks.
Overview
Eye of the Pie puts you behind the wheel of a pizza delivery hatchback during Hurricane Mabel. The first shift runs you between flooded houses, a cabin in the woods and the local radio station. Finish those and dispatch sends you up the coast road, where the job is just getting through.
Two very different shifts. Find your way through a flooded town, then open it up on a long coast road.
A storm that pushes back. Gusts knock the car off course, flooded lanes block the easy line, and every bump wears down the hatchback.
A highway full of trouble. Barricades and fallen trees force lane changes, and wrecks and rolling barrels fill the gaps.
Tips worth protecting. Hot pizzas and an intact car earn better tips, and your tips carry into the second shift.
How It’s Built
Built on Spark Engine, my own browser game engine. The town, the highway, the car and the weather are all made in code, and the engine noise, rain and thunder are synthesized live.
Process
Designed and built solo from a piece of hurricane-and-hatchback concept art. Plays in a desktop browser with a keyboard.
